Outerwear

I'm a little obsessed with coats and jackets especially a leather jacket. The weather at the moment is wet and cold and it's not looking like it's going to change any time soon so here is my outerwear edit.
I'm sure everyone has their coat or jacket already for this season, however, if your like me and always looking if not buying them then this is the post for you.

Browsing the web I have been lusting over all of these jackets. I have even been counting the months of wear I would get out of them and summer does seem like a while a way so maybe one might have to be purchased :). Perhaps one that's a little lighter so it will take me in to the warmer weather.

Mango.com

Zara.com

H&m.com

Reiss.com

Here is a moodboard styled around this amazing jacket from mango.com. Love how well the brown accessories with the matching green works with it.

Jackets just finish an outfit, whether your going for a put together tailored look, or an edgy leather look, a jacket can complete it so it's important to shop around and pick the right one that works for you :).

Love for a t shirt

One of my favourite items to wear is a slogan t shirt. You can dress it up with a blazer and some leather trousers or skirt, or dress it down with some skinny ripped jeans and a leather jacket. T shirts really do give you so many outfit options and that is why I am bringing  this post to you today.

A t shirt with a positive slogan on is a fave and at the moment there really are so many of them out there.

Below are some favourites of mine.

Pullandbear.com

Forever21.com

Offdutee.com

Asos.com

Thejojoboutique.com

I find these types of t shirts so easy to wear and style. Below is how I would style this simple black one from pullandbear.com, with black and gunmetal being the theme with a pop of red from Burberry.

Going into 2016

It isn't long until 2016 is here so I thought I would share with you how I stay organised and have a positive outlook on life.
For me, positivity comes from having a clear and organised mind, therefore, ensuring I enter 2016 in that exact way.
Pictured below are my favourite items that I use day to day to keep me in an organised state of lifestyle and mind.

So, let's start with a diary, one of the best ways to keep your hectic life style in order. This particular one is by Kate Spade and I love the simplicity of the monochrome stripe.

Herbal tea obviously doesn't help organise your life but for me I know all of its benefits and that makes me feel good about the day ahead, knowing that I have started the day off right.

Bronzer, if you feel good about your self then you will project good vibes by being happy in your skin. Find out what makes you feel more confident and put it into your daily routine. For me, being bronzed makes me feel a lot more confident so wheather it's a spray tan or a little help from a good bronzer I like to make this effort to feel better.

Ensuring you stay on top of your hair is also important, having a brother who is a hair dresser makes things easy for me but hair is something I notice a lot on other people, the colour, the length, the cut and the condition. So I stay on top of mine, keeping up with appointments and using the best products to look after it and to help it grow. When you look in the mirror and feel good about yourself you will be able to take on life's pressures that little bit better.

A women's nails show how well we look after ourselves. Keep them filed and polished, I always think a nude keeps them looking tidy especially if you're not into colours. It's a simple way of looking polished and put together.

Exercise is a crucial part of every day life. Make sure you fit it in to your week. I know it can be hard with our busy life's but it does make you feel better and give you more energy. It doesn't have to mean going to the gym, I dance and swim. It could mean walking the dog, going to fun classes with friends or starting a hobby like badminton which I also occasionally do.

Water, one of the most important things on this picture. I try to drink a lot every day, and when I don't I notice a difference. The benefits are unreal, I feel way more awake, keen to cram more things into my day and my skin feels in so much better condition.

I like to take a multi vitamin a day, I don't tend to notice a difference but just the thought of giving my body the vitamins makes me happy and happy equals a more positive, successful Katy.

Lastly, the happiness planner, a great way of logging down your goals and thoughts of the day that will motivate you to work harder and be a better person. I really recommend this, I got mine from eBay.

And that's it, the end of my stepping into 2016 with positivity and an organised mind. Have a good one.

Halloween party... For two

Last night I decided to make an event out of Halloween for my boyfriend and I. If you don't create fun things, life will pass you by so I decided to do a party for two ha.

First things first. I decorated the house for when Liam came home from work with grave stones, cobwebs, spiders and Halloween treats. He was very surprised when he arrived home ha, we started the evening with me making dinner which was witches fingers, pumpkin cheese burgers and fries.

To create the witches fingers all you need to do is cut the crust off of the bread, apply garlick butter on the bread and roll it. Cut one end of the rolled bread into a point and then apply more garlick butter on to that end and stick an almond onto it to create the nail and then grill... Easy right. Then add them into a bowl of tomatoe ketchup to look like the blood and there you have it.

Following dinner we had witches brew which is limeade and ice cream to create the froth then add a straw and some candy floss, simple but looks so good.

We then carved pumpkins, can you guess which one is mine... Of course the one with the love heart eyes :).
We then sat in the garden and made s'mores. S'mores are an American tradition, something that was done around a camp fire, so we grabbed our mega marshmallows and sat around the fire and toasted them and put them in between two biscuits and a layer of chocolate, sooooooo good.

Cupcakes followed made by my, a simple sponge recipe with cadburys chocolate spread on top. I used some Selfridges skull decorations and some finger biscuits and wrote RIP on them with an icing pen to create a grave stone.
Pin the wart on the witch ended our night before we settled down with a movie and it was a lot of fun. Create your own fun by drawing your own picture and then cut shapes out that apply to the picture and play your own 'pin the' game.
I am no artist as shown but we still had fun :).

I am now planning our next themed night but I think that may be Christmas :) that does give me an excuse to go all out doesn't it :).

Thanks for reading

Halloween plans

Stay tuned for all of my Halloween plans over the next few days.
Thought I would write a mini post to give you an idea of what my Halloween will entail.
I am not one for dressing up and going out on Halloween I much prefer to create fun at home :). This year it will just be me and Liam watching a movie, carving pumpkins, games and me making a Halloween themed dinner. I am going to be baking Halloween cupcakes and making Witches brew.
I have purchased a few cute bits and bobs from selfridges to add more fun. Stay tuned :)

Something to celebrate

I haven't written a blog post in a while because I have been super busy organising a show for my dance company. Now the show is over and was a huge success it was time to say thank you to the people that helped me achieve what I did. This post is all about how I thanked my boyfriend Liam as he takes care of all the music for me, mixing, editing and playing on the night of the show.

I decided to book a hotel in the mailbox in Birmingham. This time we stayed at Hotel Indigo. We loved this hotel and everything it had to offer from the amazing room with amazing floor to ceiling windows that showcased the whole city and at night it was pretty amazing from laying in bed.

The Mailbox has been refurbished and it's absolutely stunning. Once checked into the hotel and settled we headed to the gas social restaurant within the mailbox. It's a new addition and we really enjoyed the relaxed vibe, the cocktails and the food. I had sticky chicken with sweet potatoe fries and Liam had a burger.

We then went on for more cocktails in the new cocktail bar Aluna where Liam chose the PiƱa punch for two with coconut ice cream in it. It was lovely and we really loved this particular bar.

We finished up in Marco Pierre Whites restaurant over looking the city once more, enjoying live music and lovely drinks.

The next day we headed to the Bullring... Of course where we done a little shopping. Below are all of the pictures from the weekend. A post will follow with all of the items I purchased.
